John Lundstram’s best player ‘change’ revealed as Rangers team-mate watches iconic fan song

Immortalized in song at Ibrox with Belinda Carlisle’s ‘Heaven is a place on Earth’, the performances of Lundstram’s midfielder and Europa League semi-final winner captured the hearts – and voices – of the crowd Rangers who had taken the time to warm up at the “silky Scouser”.

Now settled in Glasgow and firmly established alongside Giovanni van Bronckhorst, there are parallels to Sands’ early city life beyond his versatility in defense and midfield where the Englishman set an example of which can be achieved with patience – and then performance.

“He’s quite the player to learn from. Even from the bench, the way he handles the game, he’s very calm and he has that switch when he doesn’t have the ball that all the best players have,” Sands explained, “I definitely wouldn’t want to play against him.

“I think he’s also a great example of how things take time. The first half of the season he wasn’t in the team much and now he’s the most important player.

“I think that’s a good lesson for me too.”

The catchy chorus is not only a sign of growing affection, but also recognition of recent displays that have had fans praising his name as “the best on earth.”

“There are a few good ones,” Sands added. “Diallo has a good one, and Fashion, of course. I would love to have a song. I have to do a few performances before that.”
