The Oasis Noasis tribute group and the audience who watched their performance on Friday night (November 26) at the Tan Hill Inn in Yorkshire, England were trapped inside the pub for three nights due to a severe storm of snow, The New York Times reported.
As of Monday, November 29, most guests at the remote site and lodge in Yorkshire Dales National Park had been rescued after a snow plow passed through the area. An all-terrain group evacuated some a day earlier. However, Noasis said they were still trapped in the group’s latest update on Monday morning (November 29).
The Tan Hill Inn shared a report detailing the incident. Look at it towards the bottom of this post.
Noasis revealed on November 27: “We are so sorry to report that we are stranded in snow-capped Yorkshire in place after last night’s concert at the Tan Hill Inn. We have no way to get to our house. [next] concert.”
The group continued on Monday: “We’re still here! The roads are still very icy and the main road is still closed, it is not yet sanded or cleared of snow because these vehicles have to pass downed power lines. at least until the end of the afternoon, they say, if at all today! “
Piles of snow as high as three feet blocked exits to the pub after the band’s set, and local officials said driving home was unsafe. So the group members, customers, and seven hostel employees crouched down for the night, which quickly turned into the whole weekend.
To pass the time, they took quizzes in pubs and watched movies in addition to singing karaoke. “Lots of oases right now,” said hostel general manager Nicola Townsend.
She added that some customers drank beer to keep themselves occupied, but maintained that no one “got drunk and drunk” because they wanted to be “respectful of each other.”
Several clients already had rooms at the hostel or had RVs outside. Those who stayed slept in the living room – on the floor or elsewhere – with blankets and pillows provided by the hostel.
Some now refer to Noasis as Snow-asis. But it looks like former Oasis members and brothers Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher have yet to comment on the ordeal.
