In 2020, Google’s streaming service offered a âYear in Reviewâ playlist, while a handful of users received an email with the best stats. YouTube Music’s 2021 recap appears to be much more complete and finally on par with other apps.
This is not yet widely available, but some users are seeing a â2021 Recapâ which allows them to âRelive your year in music with your favorite songsâ. There are 100 tracks with this playlist shareable via a link. It is not known if they are classified by number of parts.
Meanwhile, if you have this playlist, tap your profile avatar in the upper right corner to reveal a â2021Recapâ that appears between âHistoryâ and âPaid subscriptionsâ. The aforementioned playlist will appear first, while YouTube Music will then highlight key listening statistics.
This names your best artist and playlist with the number of minutes you listened to, as well as your best song with the number of plays. You can quickly download and share this graphic. Then there’s a more detailed breakdown of that top track with the ability to save and share.
Google then lists a song and artists that you âdiscoveredâ in 2021, while rating your âTop Mixâ and video at the very end.
As December quickly approaches, YouTube Music will likely increase the availability of the 2021 recap in the coming days. In terms of year-end tasks, YTM is also missing its new Material You widget. Meanwhile, after several years, Google’s service finally seems to compete with Spotify Wrapped and Apple Music Playback.
